Penny Lane

"Miss Penny Lane...
Let me tell you what Rock and Roll will miss the day you truly retire." - Russell in "Almost Famous"

What is not to love about Kate Hudson as Penny Lane in "Almost Famous"?

From the very first shot, there was something about Kate and this character she played that made me smile. Then, i heard her name was "Penny Lane" like The Beatles song and... it was enough for me. I don´t know if it was the fact that i wanted to be her, play that perfect, fun, emotional, sweet, beautiful character more than anything but whatever it was, the thing is that i think Kate Hudson was amazing on this movie and from that moment on, i became a fan of the girl and...

I simply Fell In Love with Penny Lane!

She did get my heart from the very beginning. The way she dressed was awesome, she was obviously a Beatles fan like me and she was impossible not to love. The nicest girl with the biggest heart, sensitive, sweet, a little bit naive, a dreamer, a fragile spirit, a flower waiting to bloom, a young woman full of hope, dreams and deep inside waiting and wanting to be really loved by someone. There were times when she was all fun, dancing, smiling and there were other times when she felt very lonely even when she had her "band aids", the band, William, around. She smiled to hide every sad feeling but you could feel when she was hurt deep inside as much as the next girl for not getting the love she truly expected from Russell, the leader of the band. I guess she was the exception to The Beatles song and in the end the love she took was not equal to the love she made. She gave too much and took too little. It was better than nothing and she did as if it was ok but in her heart, she expected more than a little. Anyway, i bought all of her emotions and she made me feel her love as much as her pain. I believe Kate Hudson did a great job playing this unforgettable character. And i´m pretty sure, i´m not the only one who feels like that about Penny Lane...
